PETALING JAYA: A landslide that occurred early this morning has blocked Jalan Kampung Raja, a key access road to Cameron Highlands from Simpang Pulai, near the Blue Valley junction.
The Cameron Highlands civil defence force received an alert at 3.15am and dispatched a team to the site to assess the situation and provide assistance.
“The landslide has disrupted traffic in both directions, and clearing operations are currently in progress,” it said in a Facebook statement.
Road users are advised to take alternative routes via Sungai Koyan in Lipis or the Tapah road to access Cameron Highlands.
According to Utusan Malaysia, the landslide was caused by continuous heavy rain since yesterday afternoon. No damage to homes or casualties have been reported.
