DAP Youth chief Woo Kah Leong and Perak Amanah Youth chief Khairol Najib Hashim said Razman’s claim was irresponsible and an affront to the nation’s democratic system.
Woo also reminded the PAS leader of his statement in May 2023 where he said his meetings with several Perak government assemblymen were merely “normal” meetings and not attempts at toppling the state government.
“I advise the Perak PAS chief to focus his efforts on serving the people in his constituency rather than spreading baseless political talk,” he said in a statement. Razman is the assemblyman for Gunung Semanggol.
Razman reportedly made the claim at an event organised by PAS on Dec 22. At the gathering, he urged the party’s cybertroopers on TikTok to continue their efforts of “informing” the people, saying the priority was to take over the government before the next general election.
Separately, Khairol said Razman’s statement, if true, would go against the king’s call for an end to plots to topple the government.
He accused PAS of being driven by the lust for power instead of serving the people and resolving the issues they face.
“These efforts will only jeopardise the political and economic stability of the nation,” he said in a post on Facebook.
