
PETALING JAYA: The flood situation in West Malaysia has eased through the day, with the number of evacuees reducing to 637 from 1,537 this morning.
Kelantan remains the worst-hit with 573 victims being housed in nine relief centres in the districts of Tanah Merah and Kuala Krai.
This was a drop from the 882 victims reported at 8am.
The number of flood victims was drastically reduced in Terengganu, from 655 to 51 as of 7pm. They were relocated to two shelters in Besut.
Kota Tinggi, Johor, was also hit by flooding, with two relief centres opened to shelter 13 victims.
