KUALA LUMPUR:
Bird’s nest processor MYMBN Bhd has received a notice from the department of veterinary services regarding the temporary suspension of bird’s nest product exports to China effective Dec 25.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the company said the suspension was prompted by the presence of the Newcastle disease virus in Malaysia, as reported to the World Organisation for Animal Health.

“This suspension affects the entire industry, covering both raw cleaned and raw uncleaned edible bird’s nest products,” it said.

The company said it was working closely with the authorities to monitor developments, expedite the resumption of exports, and adjust operational strategies to manage inventory and ensure business continuity during this period.
