
Its elections director, Peto Galim, said discussions for the remaining 25%, which involve key hotspots, are expected to be concluded by January, The Borneo Post reported.
Peto said if an agreement cannot be reached for the seats, the matter will be referred to the party presidents to resolve.
PKR is one of the four component parties of Sabah PH, alongside DAP, Upko and Amanah.
The Sabah assembly’s term expires in October 2025, which means the 17th state election must be held by Dec 9, 2025.
Separately, Sabah PKR information chief Razeef Rakimin said negotiations at the PH level have been progressing smoothly.
He said the delay in finalising the remaining seats is not because of any dispute but is due to the busy end-of-year schedule faced by the PH allies.
“As for cooperation (with other parties), we haven’t made any decision yet. We’ll consider any offer before we make a final decision,” he said.
Last weekend, Gabungan Rakyat Sabah reaffirmed its commitment to continue cooperating with Sabah PH for the upcoming state election.
PH joined the Sabah government following a failed coup attempt by Umno last year.
