Infrastructure, utility and rural development executive councillor Hanafiah Mat said areas within a 5km radius of the main river basins in Kemaman, Besut, Setiu and Hulu Terengganu were at the highest risk of experiencing floods.

He advised residents to be on the watch for floods and to comply with the directives of authorities, Sinar Harian reported.
Earlier, the meteorological department warned of continuous heavy rain in four states over the next three days from today, including the whole of Kelantan and Terengganu.
Terengganu saw thousands being evacuated again last week due to floods, mere days after its last relief centre was closed.
The first wave of floods in the east coast around late November was said to be the worst in a decade, with more than 150,000 people forced to flee their homes.
