Floods slowly ease in east coast after initial spike in evacuees

PETALING JAYA:
The second wave of floods in the peninsula is slowly easing, with the number of flood victims in the east coast steadily decreasing through the day.

As of 12.15pm, there were 5,400 flood victims being sheltered in 33 relief centres, compared with 6,559 this morning.

In Terengganu, the number of evacuees decreased from 5,853 this morning to 4,862, while Kelantan and Pahang also saw slight reductions in the number of victims at relief centres.

The number of victims in Kelantan reduced slightly from 307 to 276.

In Johor and Perak, however, the number of evacuees remained at 155 and 34 respectively.
