On Dec 3, BAM confirmed that MACC officers had gone to its headquarters to request certain information.
Speaking to reporters today, MACC chief Azam Baki said the anti-graft agency is not investigating the national badminton body as a whole.
“Some additional witnesses have been called and they (MACC investigators) are still looking into the issue of allowances.
“But this only concerns an individual, not the whole entity or organisation,” he said.
Azam said six witnesses have had their statements recorded in relation to the case but he was unable to disclose whether this included the person being investigated.
“But rest assured, the person will be called,” he said. “It’s someone in a high-ranking committee.”
BAM previously said it had extended its full cooperation to MACC officers during their visit to its headquarters.
Youth and sports minister Hannah Yeoh had said such probes were standard procedure when complaints were lodged with MACC.
