KOTA BHARU:
Nearly 30 villages within a 5km radius of three rivers in Kuala Krai are expected to experience flooding from Monday, the irrigation and drainage department said following a meteorological alert on continuous rain.

The villages lie near Sungai Galas, Sungai Lebir, and Sungai Pahi.

The meteorological department (MetMalaysia) has issued an alert for continuous rain in Perlis, Kedah, Perak, Kelantan and Terengganu from tomorrow (Dec 8) to Wednesday (Dec 11), while Pahang and Johor are expected to suffer continuous rain from Monday to Wednesday.

MetMalaysia said monsoon winds with the potential to bring prolonged heavy rain could trigger a second wave of floods from tomorrow until Dec 14.
