Ex-AG Idrus Harun is new MyCC chairman

The former attorney-general replaces Hishamudin Yunus, who was appointed as the Human Rights Commission of Malaysia's chairman in July.

PETALING JAYA:
Former attorney-general Idrus Harun has been appointed as the chairman of the Malaysia Competition Commission for a three-year term until Nov 24, 2027.

Idrus, a former Federal Court judge, replaces Hishamudin Yunus, who was appointed as the chairman of the Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (Suhakam) in July.

Idrus was also recently appointed to the Judicial Appointments Commission. He is the brother of Azhar Harun, who was formerly the Election Commission chairman and Dewan Rakyat Speaker.

His appointment was announced by domestic trade and cost of living minister Armizan Mohd Ali in a statement today.
