
PETALING JAYA: Police are investigating the death of a 49-year-old Chinese national, who was stabbed in a restaurant at a shopping mall in Cheras yesterday.
Cheras police chief Aidil Bolhassan said the victim, who was working as a cashier at the restaurant, suffered four to five stab wounds.
“We have detained seven suspects, all of whom are colleagues of the victim at the restaurant,” he said in a brief text message to the media.
“We are searching for witnesses and investigating all potential leads to determine the motive for the murder.”
He said the murder weapon had not been recovered yet.
Aidil added that the victim died in the ambulance enroute to Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz.
