In a statement today, Wangsa Maju police chief Lazim Ismail confirmed that a report had been lodged on the incident, which is believed to have happened on Nov 17.
“The cats were found dead and covered in blood at the stairs of a student residence in Setapak, Kuala Lumpur.
“A security guard was informed of the matter by students. The case has been classified under Section 428 of the Penal Code (for mischief by killing an animal) and is under investigation,” he said.
It was previously reported that according to a TikTok post by user Nanisnanaa, the cats were found with stab wounds to their heads.
Users tagged the veterinary services department for action, while others said the matter had been reported to the police.
However, according to comments, the police said they could only act if the university lodged a report.
