GEORGE TOWN:
State opposition leader Fauzi Yusoff has been admitted to Penang Hospital for high blood pressure and difficulty moving his arms.

Penaga assemblyman Yusni Mat Piah said Fauzi, who is the Penang PAS chief, had a blood pressure reading of above 200 at the state assembly yesterday evening.

Yusni said doctors are also looking at the swelling at the back of his head and that he was being cared for by a neurologist.

“We went to visit him and he was doing well. His doctor said he is in stable condition and is being monitored,” he said.

Fauzi is also the Balik Pulau PAS chief and the state ulama chief.

He won the Sungai Dua seat with a 5,509-vote majority in last year’s state election in a straight fight with Barisan Nasional’s Shaik Hussein Mydin.
