PETALING JAYA:
Chest injuries have been found on the woman whose remains were found stored in a freezer for three years after being killed at her home in Taman OUG, Kuala Lumpur.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Rusdi Isa said early findings from a post-mortem revealed that the woman in her 80s had suffered “chest injuries due to blunt trauma”.

“We have recorded statements from nine people so far and are still waiting for the full post-mortem investigation report,” he said in a statement.

Rusdi said the remains were handed over to her husband this morning.

The woman’s 53-year old son, the suspect in the case, was discharged from the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre on Tuesday and is being detained at the Brickfields police headquarters until his remand ends on Nov 26.

He was previously sent to the hospital for a mental health assessment.

According to reports, the man was suspected to have beaten his mother to death at their home in March 2021 and wrapped her body in towels and plastic bags before storing it in the freezer.

Police discovered the body at about 8.50am on Nov 12 after the suspect called the police to surrender himself when his savings depleted and he had become ill.
