PETALING JAYA:
A 53-year-old man was arrested in Kuala Lumpur today on suspicion of killing his mother in 2021 and storing her body in a freezer for the past three years.

The man was believed to have beaten his mother, who was in her 80s, to death at their home in Taman OUG in March 2021, Kosmo reported.

He wrapped her body in towels and plastic bags before storing it in the freezer.

He filed a police report on the matter at 9am today, purportedly after depleting his savings and becoming chronically ill.

He was arrested after police went to the house.

In a statement later, Kuala Lumpur police chief Rusdi Isa confirmed the man’s arrest, saying they were informed at 8.48am of the discovery of a woman’s body in a freezer at the house in Taman OUG.

The body has been sent to Universiti Malaya Medical Centre for a postmortem.

“The case is being probed under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder and the motive is still under investigation.”
