Kelantan youth, sports and NGOs committee chairman Zamakhshari Muhamad said upgrading and improvement work on the stadium were still being carried out by the appointed contractor.
“Currently, the drainage installation work has been completed and is undergoing leak testing.
“In addition, the installation of pipes and wiring is also underway and is expected to be completed by the end of November,” he told Bernama today.
Regarding the grass on the stadium pitch, Zamakhshari said the turf recovery process was expected to be fully completed by the end of December.
“We expect this stadium to once again serve as the venue for Kelantan Darul Naim FC in the Super League and other sporting activities in January 2025,” he added.
He said the upgrading work, costing over RM500,000, which began in August, was set to be completed on schedule.
Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium, built in 1965, has a seating capacity of 30,000 and has long been a “sacred” ground for the state’s football team.
