
She took her oath before Justice Akhtar Tahir, the most senior High Court judge, during an elevation ceremony held today.
Hasnah was appointed judicial commissioner in 2010, before being made a High Court judge two years later. She was promoted to the Court of Appeal in 2016 and the Federal Court in 2019.
Prior to joining the judiciary, Hasnah was the Legal Profession Qualifying Board (LPQB) director and director-general at the insolvency department.
Besides Hasnah, former attorney-general Ahmad Terrirudin Salleh was also sworn in as a Federal Court judge.
Meanwhile, eight High Court judges – Justices Noorin Badaruddin, Firuz Jaffril, Alwi Abdul Wahab, Faizah Jamaludin, Ahmad Kamal Shahid, Ismail Brahim, Wan Ahmad Farid Wan Salleh and Ahmad Fairuz Zainol Abidin – were promoted to the Court of Appeal.
They took their oaths before Court of Appeal president Abang Iskandar Abang Hashim.
Fifteen judicial commissioners were confirmed as High Court judges and took their oaths before Hasnah.
They are Azizan Arshad, Noor Ruwena Nurdin, S Narkunavathy, Jamhirah Ali, Noor Hayati Mat, Azlan Sulaiman, Kenneth Yoong Ken Chinson St James, Leong Wai Hong, Noor Hisham Ismail, Roz Mawar Rozain, Wan Fadhilah Nor Wan Idris, Rofiah Mohamad, Wong Mee Ling, Raja Ahmad Mohzanuddin Shah Raja Mohzan and Suria Kumar Durairaj.
