The matter was confirmed by Sungai Kolok police investigation division chief Hafit Mad-asin.
“For investigations involving foreign nationals and large quantities of drugs, the court will not grant bail to the suspects as there is concern they may flee.
“All the drugs found were sent to the forensic centre laboratory in Yala to identify the types of drugs and their owner, before being handed over to the prosecutor to determine the date for court proceedings,” he said.
According to Hafit, all the suspects would be held at the Narathiwat prison for 84 days, or approximately three months, while awaiting court proceedings.
Last Friday, six Malaysians aged between 25 and 34 were arrested in a raid at around 5am by the Sungai Kolok police narcotics division at a hotel.
Police investigations revealed the suspects were in possession of 6,000 yaba pills and had also entered Thailand without valid documents.
