The Narathiwat provincial court granted Thai police the extension to allow them to investigate the matter, Harian Metro reported.
The six will be transferred to the Narathiwat prison, a court spokesman said, adding that the detention period would allow for the suspects to be interrogated every 12 days.
“The suspects’ families however can appeal for them to be released on bail, although the amount would be up to the court to decide,” the spokesman was quoted as saying.
The spokesman said police would charge the six once they gather sufficient evidence.
On Saturday, it was reported that Thai police had nabbed a female singer, who is in her 30s, along with two women and three men, aged between 24 and 25, at about 6am in a hotel room near Sungai Golok town.
Authorities also uncovered 6,000 yaba pills.
Preliminary investigations found that two of the six suspects have previous criminal records for drug-related offences. All tested positive for methamphetamine.
Thai police are still on the hunt for two more suspects who managed to escape during the raid in Sungai Golok.
According to Thai laws, those found in possession of the pills can be sentenced to between 10 and 15 years’ jail and fined 200,000 baht (RM25,880).
