Mas Ermieyati, Rahim win Bersatu division head posts

Mas Ermieyati Samsudin retained her position as Masjid Tanah Bersatu division chief while Abdul Rahim Tamby Chik won the Alor Gajah Bersatu division chief’s post in a straight fight.

Masjid Tanah MP Mas Ermieyati Samsudin retained her position as Masjid Tanah Bersatu division head in the party’s polls yesterday.

In a statement today, the Melaka Bersatu election committee announced that Mas Ermieyati, who is also Wanita Bersatu chief, won with 150 votes while her opponent, the division’s former permanent chairman Rosni Sham Samion, only received four votes.

Former Melaka chief minister Abdul Rahim Tamby Chik won the Alor Gajah Bersatu division chief’s post with 105 votes, defeating Zamri Abu Bakar, who received 56 votes.

In Tangga Batu, the position of Bersatu chief is now held by Ramlan Meon, who won with 79 votes against former TV3 part-time cameraman Hanafiah Hamzah, who received 26 votes.

In the Hang Tuah Jaya Bersatu division, incumbent Azrudin Idrus won the chief’s post unopposed.

Elections were suspended for the Jasin and Kota Melaka divisions, which will only be allowed to hold their annual meetings, while the division-level election of the party’s leaders will be held next month.
