KOTA TINGGI:
The head of Bersatu’s Tenggara division in Johor, Hassan Rasid, is reported to have quit the party, along with 30 members, including 15 division committee members.

Hassan said the decision was reached unanimously. He said there was a lack of confidence in Bersatu’s top leadership, whom he accused of failing to manage the party effectively and lacking transparency in carrying out their responsibilities.

He accused the leadership of poor management in cancelling the branch elections in Kota Jaya Selatan, Bandar Tenggara Selatan and Sungai Telor just a day before the elections.

Several branches of the Srikandi (women’s) wing were not included in the list of delegates for the Srikandi Tenggara division elections and the committee was barred from holding meetings, he told reporters.

Hassan said five police reports had been lodged.
