SEGAMAT: Five men and a woman have been arrested after a fight led to a man’s death in Batu Anam yesterday.
Segamat police chief Ahmad Zamry Marinsah said the fight was believed to have been caused by a misunderstanding.
He said the victim was slashed with a parang, while several of his friends were injured when they tried to break up the fight, after they had allegedly damaged a vehicle belonging to the suspects’ family.
Zamry said the suspects, comprising teenagers as well as adults in their 40s, were arrested at 12.30am. The main suspect has a criminal record of seven prior offences.
