KUALA LUMPUR:
The armed forces are investigating allegations that a cadet at the National Defence University (UPNM) in Sungai Besi was bullied by a senior who pressed a hot iron against his chest.

It is understood that the act was uncovered after a routine inspection was conducted by the instructor on duty at the time, who noticed signs of injury on the cadet’s body.

“A detailed investigation will be carried out, and there will be no cover-up or compromise,” the forces said in a statement last night.

“Stern disciplinary measures as well as legal action will be taken against any party found guilty.

“All developments resulting from the investigation will be communicated to the public from time to time.”

The forces called on the public to allow the university to investigate the matter thoroughly and urged them not to speculate on the case as it could interfere with the investigation.
