PETALING JAYA:
Kedah Umno says the state government’s Greater Kedah blueprint is “plagiarised” as 90% of the statements seem to have been derived from the previous Umno and Barisan Nasional-led federal government.

Kedah Umno information chief Shaiful Hazizy Zainol Abidin said the blueprint launched yesterday showed that Kedah menteri besar Sanusi Nor and the state government were bereft of ideas.

“Almost all the high-impact projects mentioned in the blueprint will be fully financed by the federal government, not the state or SG4,” he said, referring to the informal grouping of the four Perikatan Nasional-led states.

“Kedah Umno urges Sanusi to abandon this kind of cheap politics and begin delivering tangible and practical benefits to the rakyat,” he said in a statement.

Shaiful called on Sanusi to explain why certain development projects were supposedly stalled and to clarify the alleged lack of investments in the state.

Sanusi had said yesterday the blueprint hoped to bring prosperity to Kedahans, promote economic growth and ensure environmental sustainability by 2050, reported Bernama.

Among others, the blueprint touches on the economy, state finances, good governance, strategic partnerships, geopolitical planning, and natural resource management.
