Bernama reported customs deputy director-general (enforcement and compliance) Ribuan Abdullah as saying a team of officers confiscated five boxes at the warehouse after finding tea packets containing a clear crystal substance, believed to be drugs.
He said the department estimated the drugs seized could have supplied more than 525,000 people, and had been set for delivery to Keningau, Sabah, via courier.
“Based on the quantity, there is a possibility these drugs were heading for distribution in Indonesia where the price is four times higher than in Malaysia,” Ribuan told reporters.
He said no arrests had been made so far and checks found that the sender’s address was not written, while the recipient’s information on the box was fake.
He said the case is being investigated under Section 39B(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 for trafficking in dangerous drugs.
