PETALING JAYA:
Results of the Bersatu Youth leadership election are expected to be announced tomorrow, following a review of several objections and complaints by the party’s election committee.

The committee’s chairman Abdul Azim Zabidi said the final results will be confirmed after all objections and complaints are thoroughly examined. “The results may be announced as early as tomorrow,” he told a press conference at the Bersatu headquarters.

Yesterday, it was reported that Bersatu Youth’s permanent chairman Akmal Zahin Zainal Zahir had unofficially won the election for the Bersatu Youth chief position, defeating Gombak Setia assemblyman Hilman Idham.

The wing’s vote counting centre said Zahin obtained 2,432 votes, 76 votes more than Hilman’s 2,356.

However, the committee has urged all parties to refrain from making any announcements or speculations about the victory until an official statement is issued.

Wanita chiefs unopposed

Masjid Tanah MP Mas Ermieyati Samsudin was announced as the Wanita Bersatu chief, with Nolee Ashilin Radzi as her deputy, both securing their positions unopposed.

For Wanita Bersatu’s youth wing, Nurul Ezzati Azmi was elected as its chief, while Nabila Norshahar was chosen as the deputy.

Azim said that 181 divisions of the two Bersatu wings successfully held their assemblies on Saturday, attended by 6,852 delegates.
