SIBU:
A woman lost more than RM300,000 in company funds when a man smashed a window of her car and stole the money on Friday.

Sibu district police chief Zulkipli Suhaili said that the 27-year-old woman, a company employee, had withdrawn the cash from a bank.

“Initial investigations revealed that the two robbers had followed the woman from the bank as she carried a bag full of cash.

“After she parked her vehicle at the car park, one of the men broke the driver’s side window and stole a bag placed on the seat next to her,” he said in a statement today.

The robbers fled on a motorcycle, Zulkipli said.

He urged the public to be more careful when carrying out banking transactions in cash, and not to place valuables in places easily accessible to criminals.
