Wushu queen Tan Cheong Min wins gold medal at Taolu World Cup

KUALA LUMPUR:
The country’s women’s wushu queen, Tan Cheong Min, continued to make Malaysia proud by winning the gold medal in the nangun event at the third edition of the Taolu World Cup in Yokohama, Japan, today.

Cheong Min, who is also the 2019 world champion, topped the competition with a total score of 9.770, leaving behind the nearest competitors from Hong Kong (9.756) and Vietnam (9.646), who won silver and bronze respectively.

Malaysia also took home a silver medal through Calvin Lee Wai Leong, who scored 9.760 in the men’s nandao category while Wong Weng Son won bronze in the men’s changquan category with a score of 9.780.

Meanwhile, Pang Pui Yee finished in fourth place in the women’s jianshu event with a 9.756 score, behind the representatives of China who won gold (9.796), Vietnam (9.773) and Hong Kong (9.766).
