Man drives into school compound, injures student in hit-and-run incident

PETALING JAYA:
An unemployed man was arrested after injuring a 13-year-old student in a hit-and-run incident in the compound of a secondary school at Pantai Remis, Manjung, yesterday.

Manjung police chief Hasbullah Abd Rahman said the 47-year-old suspect was referred to the Seri Manjung Hospital because of his unstable mental condition, reported Bernama

The case is being investigated under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder.

Hasbullah said the suspect crashed his car into the gate of a basketball court at about 5.30pm, causing it to collapse.

He then drove towards a secondary school, entered the school’s compound, and headed towards the hall, where he hit a female student practising volleyball, before driving off.

The student, who suffered an injury to her left leg, was admitted to Seri Manjung Hospital.
