Flood watch: More victims reported in three states

Higher number of flood victims in Perak, Pahang and Melaka, while Kedah and Johor show a drop.

PETALING JAYA:
The number of flood victims rose in Perak, Pahang, and Melaka tonight, while the number of victims in Kedah and Johor has decreased.

In Perak, there were 1,586 people housed at relief centres in Kerian, Kuala Kangsar, Hulu Perak, and Muallim districts, Bernama reported.

In Pahang, officials said 1,247 people were housed at five relief centres. The water level at the Chini Bridge in Pekan was above the danger level, while the water level in Temerloh was continuing to rise above the warning level.

In Melaka, 241 people were housed at four relief centres, while in Kedah, the number of flood victims in four affected districts decreased to 1,561 people at 12 relief centres in Baling, Pendang, Kota Setar and Pokok Sena districts.

In Johor, the number of flood victims decreased to 197 in Kluang, Kulai, and Batu Pahat.
