LANGKAWI: Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman was injured when he rode his bicycle into a fallen tree branch in rainy weather at the ironman championship here today.
Langkawi police chief Shariman Ashari said Syed Saddiq was heading to the final checkpoint of the cycling event, before taking part in a 42.2km run.
Syed Saddiq said on Thursday it was his first participation in Ironman Malaysia and he was determined to set a good time for himself.
Ironman championships comprise three events: a 3.8km swim, 180km cycle race, and 42.2km run.
