Number of flood evacuees rises to 3,655 in Kedah

The situation in Perlis and Perak remains unchanged.

KUALA LUMPUR:
The number of flood victims in Kedah increased this morning from last night, while the figures remained unchanged in Perlis and Perak.

In Kedah, the number of flood victims increased to 3,655 from 1,163 families as of 8am, from 3,496 from 1,126 families last night

They are being housed in 24 relief centres across Kota Setar, Kubang Pasu, Pokok Sena and Pendang.

Kota Setar recorded the highest number of victims, totalling 1,697 from 517 families, staying at nine relief centres, followed by Kubang Pasu, with 870 from 307 families housed at eight relief centres.

There are 574 people from 200 families at five relief centres in Pokok Sena, and 514 from 139 families at two relief centres in Pendang.

In Perlis, 519 evacuees, up from 518 last night, are being housed at four relief centres in Arau and Kangar.

In Perak, the number of flood victims remains at 136 from 40 families, putting up at two relief centres in Kerian.
