The head of the Malaysian emergency aid mission to Gaza, Sani Araby Abdul Alim Araby, said the 10 containers contained flour, personal hygiene kits, aid boxes and medicines.
“We waited nearly three months for clearance to take them in and we are extremely grateful,” Bernama reported him as saying.
“Two containers were taken into Gaza last month while eight others were taken in on Friday.”
Malaysia had previously sent 100 containers with 1,358 tonnes of goods to Gaza as part of the fourth humanitarian aid mission launched in March.
That aid mission was headed by the Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organisation (Mapim).
Sani Araby, who is also Mapim’s CEO, said the 10 containers were brought in through Rafah before proceeding to Karem Al-Shalom and onwards to Gaza.
“For now, we are making efforts to bring in the remaining 90 containers via the land route through Jordan. We have been dealing with the relevant parties for the past two months.
“I expect to hear good news, perhaps in the next one month,” he said.
