The foreign ministry added that another six Malaysians, who have also been evacuated, were expected to return tonight, Bernama reported.
“This brings the total number of Malaysians and their family members safely evacuated from Lebanon to 17 over the past two days,” it said in a statement.
In its latest update, Wisma Putra said the Malaysian embassy in Beirut faces an increasingly challenging situation in Lebanon, but has successfully arranged flights for the four Malaysians who are still in Lebanon to return to Malaysia.
“They are expected to arrive in Malaysia in stages on Monday and Tuesday this week,” it said.
On Friday, it was reported that five Malaysians had been evacuated from Lebanon and had returned home safely.
Wisma Putra said the evacuation was carried out amid the escalating conflict between Israel and Iran-backed Hezbollah, which is based in the country.
It added that 16 Malaysians were still in Lebanon at the time and would be evacuated soon.
Last Tuesday, Wisma Putra said nine Malaysians had voluntarily left Lebanon, and that the embassy in Beirut remained operational until further notice.
