PETALING JAYA: Water consumers in Seberang Perai Tengah and Selatan in Penang will face a scheduled 24-hour supply disruption from 10pm on Friday to enable a section of a major pipeline to be replaced.
The Penang Water Supply Corporation (PBAPP) said the disruption will affect 118,093 account holders.
In a statement, it said it is replacing a section of a major pipeline in Permatang Pauh that had been damaged by the contractor of another utility company.
It said a new 180m pipeline section will be connected and commissioned near the Politeknik Seberang Perai campus in Permatang Pauh, with a projected cost of RM2 million.
“PBAPP will strive to complete all work as planned and scheduled. We will also provide regular updates on work progress through our Facebook page,” it said.
