PETALING JAYA:
Four wives and three children of a Global Ikhwan Services and Business Holdings (GISBH) director were remanded for seven days by the Shah Alam magistrates’ court.

An Australian national was among the four wives, Bulletin TV3 reported.

The remand orders were issued by the deputy registrar, Firdaus Abdul Rashid, under Section 31(a) Child Act 2001 and the Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants Act 2007.

Lawyer Rosli Kamaruddin said police arrested the suspects at 9pm yesterday in Rawang, Selangor.

Meanwhile, Bernama reported that the magistrates’ court also extended the remand period by four to seven days for 10 other individuals to assist in the investigation related to GISBH.

On Sept 11, police raided 20 welfare homes in Selangor and Negeri Sembilan, which the authorities had linked to GISBH, and rescued 402 children and made several arrests.

Police said their investigations showed that at least 13 of the children were sodomised or taught to sexually assault others.

GISBH has denied the allegations and any links to the case.
