
Tomorrow, Syarwin will be lining up with other voters to choose a new representative,

The thought of marking a ballot paper for the first time was initially terrifying, admitted the 18-year-old.
“But as polling day draws closer, I’m more excited, especially after scrutinising the two candidates,” he told FMT, referring to Barisan Nasional’s Syed Hussien Syed Abdullah and Perikatan Nasional’s Haizan Jaafar.
Syarwin said he checks out the social media accounts of the two candidates and their respective parties to see what they have to offer the constituents here.
Harith Syahmi Shairul, meanwhile, is determined to vote wisely when he takes part in the election for the first time tomorrow.

The 19-year old intends on voting for a progressive candidate who would be able to usher in more development for Mahkota.
“I am going to vote for the candidate who I can relate to and one who understands what the youth wants,” he said.
He also expressed hope the new assemblymen will set up a scholarship fund for underprivileged STPM students, adding that there are many students who are unable to buy the books they need.
Like many of her friends, Hani Balqis Husaimin will be voting for the candidate who can help improve sporting facilities for the younger residents in Mahkota.

“I would like the incoming assemblyman to build a sports centre with good facilities and set aside funds for more football fields and basketball courts,” Hani said.
She also wants the new assemblyman to improve the condition of toilets in schools.
Syed Hussien of Umno and Haizan of Bersatu will be involved in a straight fight tomorrow for the seat that fell vacant following the death of Umno assemblyman Sharifah Azizah Syed Zain on Aug 2.
