
Bernama reported the prime minister’s office as saying in a statement that Musa’s appointment was for a three-year term from Sept 13, 2024 to Sept 12, 2027.
“This appointment aligns with the requirements outlined in the Statutes of the Darjah Yang Mulia Setia Mahkota Malaysia, ensuring the smooth execution of decrees for the conferment of the Darjah Yang Mulia Setia Mahkota under federal orders, decorations and medals,” the statement read.
All honours, medals and decorations are accompanied by certificates that must be signed by both the registrar of the orders and chancellor before receiving the king’s signature.
Musa served as deputy prime minister from July 1981 to March 1986.
He was also Malaysia’s permanent representative to the United Nations, chairman of the 51st and 52nd sessions of the UN Human Rights Commission, and chairman of the World Islamic Economic Forum Foundation.
The chairman emeritus of United Malayan Land Bhd, Musa has also held positions as chairman of Sime Darby Bhd and the Guthrie Group.
