KUALA LUMPUR:
A burst underground water pipe caused subsidence on part of Jalan Sultan Ismail in the federal capital this morning, as shown in a viral video, the fire and rescue department said.

The 10-second video clip showed what appeared to be a pothole in Jalan Sultan Ismail.

Operations commander Rozihafizam Othman said firemen found a leak from an underground pipe belonging to Air Selangor, which caused water to overflow and led to subsidence in several nearby areas.

Kuala Lumpur City Hall said repairs on the uneven road caused by water pressure would take place overnight and are expected to be completed by 5am tomorrow.
