Hilman said he submitted his nomination form for the position at the party headquarters at 9am today.
“The current Bersatu Youth (line-up) has performed their responsibilities well, and what is needed now is to ensure their continuity and sustainability,” he said at a press conference here.
“The progressive and dynamic youth wing must ensure the party can continue to grow effectively.”
Hilman said the party elections, to be held next month, must be grounded in the spirit and principles of unity, inclusiveness, and openness to embrace new talent.
He said a thriving democracy will guarantee the future of Bersatu as a credible political choice for Malaysians.
Earlier this month, Bersatu Youth chief Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal said he would not be defending his position as he had crossed the age limit of 35.
The 37-year-old Machang MP said he will be contesting for a post on the Supreme Council.
