Mashitah Ibrahim secured the injunction against the Malaysia International Humanitarian Organisation (MHO), as well as its secretary-general Hishamuddin Hashim and committee member Azirul Shafiq.
The trio were named defendants in a libel suit brought by Mashitah, a former deputy minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Sinar Harian reported.
Mashitah’s lawyer, Akberdin Abdul Kader, said Justice Jamhirah Ali issued the injunction pending a decision on an application for a permanent injunction which his client is seeking.
“The three defendants must now delete their statements immediately and not repeat them until an inter partes decision is reached,” he was quoted as saying.
The court has fixed Nov 18 to deliver its decision on the inter partes application, Akberdin said.
Falaq Adnan represented the defendants.
On Friday, Mashitah filed a RM50 million defamation suit at the Shah Alam High Court against MHO and its two office-bearers over their claims.
Mashitah wants the court to order the defendants to permanently remove three allegedly libellous postings published on TikTok and Facebook on Aug 28 and Sept 3.
The former Baling MP also seeks a restraining order to prevent republication of the postings by the defendants or their agents.
In addition, Mashitah, who was a deputy minister from 2008 and 2013, wants the defendants to publish their apology in selected newspapers and on social media platforms.
