
BUKIT MERTAJAM: The Penang road transport department (JPJ) has issued summonses to 39 express and tour buses for not having second drivers on journeys exceeding 300km or lasting more than four hours.
The department said this followed a seven-hour operation at the Juru toll plaza.
In a Facebook post, it said 219 summonses were issued for various violations, including drivers not having licences, expired public service vehicle licences, outdated driver log books and poor vehicle maintenance.
The department advised public service vehicle operators and drivers to comply with regulations and to ensure their vehicles are roadworthy.
