PETALING JAYA:
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has denied a report that it is set to arrest Negeri Sembilan police chief Ahmad Dzaffir Yussof as part of a corruption probe.

This follows a Telegram post by whistleblower Edisi Siasat claiming that a press relations officer with the Negeri Sembilan police contingent was arrested by MACC, and that more than RM4 million in cash was found by graft busters.

In the post, Edisi Siasat had also claimed that Dzaffir and several district police chiefs in Negeri Sembilan might be detained too.

When contacted about the claims, MACC chief commissioner Azam Baki simply said: “That’s not correct. Fake news.”

Dzaffir also denied the allegations and told FMT: “This is fake news.”

Before being promoted to Negeri Sembilan police chief in September 2022, Dzaffir was the commandant of the Royal Malaysian Police College Kuala Lumpur.
