
A SESB team conducted checks in the area and found squatters there blatantly committing the serious offence, he said after lodging the report at the Lahad Datu police headquarters here today.
“SESB has suffered a huge loss exceeding RM1 million due to the estimated 1,000 houses in Kampung Puyut.
“The report was lodged to urge the police to investigate the people involved in illegal connections.
“I also asked that investigations are carried out to determine if the connections in Kampung Puyut were made by a syndicate or cartel,” he said in a statement here today.
Madius said the report was lodged to deter electrocutions caused by illegal connections, which could threaten public safety.
