The Malaysians completed their comeback by winning the third set 21-12 after a total of 43 minutes.
They will face either China’s Keng Shu Liang-Zhang Shu Xian or Chinese Taipei’s Teng Chun Hsun-Yang Chu Yun in the quarter-finals.
Earlier today, Malaysia’s mixed doubles pair Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei defeated Chinese Taipei’s Liu Kuang Heng-Jheng Yu Chieh in straight games, 21-16, 21-19, to book their place in the quarter-finals.
Also in the mixed doubles last eight are their compatriots Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai, who beat Chinese Taipei’s Chen Zhi Ray-Yang Ching Tun 21-13, 21-17.
