Zuki Ali named new EPF chairman

The former chief secretary to the government will succeed Ahmad Badri Zahir.

PETALING JAYA:
Former chief secretary to the government Zuki Ali has been named the new Employees Provident Fund (EPF) chairman.

His appointment will take effect on Sept 1, EPF said in a statement.

Zuki succeeds Ahmad Badri Zahir, who had helmed the post since May 1, 2020.

“The Board would like to welcome and congratulate Zuki, whose extensive experience in the government sector and strategic direction will continue to drive the EPF to greater heights.”

Zuki was appointed chief secretary to the government on Dec 31, 2019, and reappointed on a two-year contract from Aug 11, 2022, to Aug 10, 2024.

He retired on Aug 9 after three decades in the civil service.

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim was recently reported to have said that Zuki would be given another important assignment.
