
The authority said rising water levels in Sungai Slim and Sungai Geliting, flowing into Sungai Bernam, were also to blame.
“We have been in communication with Perak authorities and conducted thorough checks and investigations around Sungai Slim, Sungai Bil and Sungai Geliting in Perak.
“Monitoring was also conducted throughout the day. The shutdown was due to an extraordinary increase in water levels,” Harian Metro reported the authority as saying.
Yesterday, 205 areas in Sabak Bernam and one in Hulu Selangor experienced water supply disruptions.
LUAS said Sungai Bernam’s water levels were currently on an encouraging downtrend, albeit a slow one due to the large amount of sediment.
