KUCHING: Three students are missing after a boat they were travelling in capsized in Sungai Kayan at Kampung Selampit, Lundu, 72km from here, today.
According to preliminary information from the fire and rescue department, the boat was ferrying 18 students and an adult female passenger.
The missing comprise one boy and two girls.
“Fifteen students (as well as the adult passenger and the boat’s skipper) managed to escape to safety but the three victims have yet to be found. A search is ongoing,” said a spokesman for the department.
