PUTRAJAYA:
The national unity ministry is to bring its services directly to the people, eliminating the need to visit the ministry’s premises, secretary-general Azman Yusof said.

He added that this is in line with reforms of the public services announced by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on Friday.

He added that the ministry is committed to ensuring the achievement of the three main pillars of the reform: enhancing public service productivity and efficiency, increasing public servants’ readiness for change, and improving national competitiveness.

Azman said the ministry will focus on strengthening its structure and competency.

He said several departmental functions have been enhanced by merging certain sections. Azman said work rotation will initially involve the ministry’s senior management, to enhance ability and efficiency, and ensure they are always ready for change.

He also highlighted that human resources development planning will follow, focusing on functional competency.
