IPOH:
Police have arrested two men and a woman for making a false report about an abandoned newborn baby girl in Pekan Titi Serong, Parit Buntar.

State police chief Azizi Mat Aris said a 24-year-old man and his 22-year-old friend made a report last Wednesday about discovering the baby, with its umbilical cord intact, in a basin behind a rubbish bin at about 5.30pm that day.

He said they claimed to have heard the baby’s cries while passing through the area. However, investigations found that the baby was the child of the complainant from an affair with a 20-year-old woman in Tanjung Piandang (Kerian).

The woman, who works at a factory in Parit Buntar, has also been remanded to assist in investigations.
